The ‘Zippable bunny’ represents a novel algorithm developed by Dr. Poranne
and colleagues at ETH used as a short-cut in the assembly of ‘real’ 3D
graphic shapes in computer animation.
Dr. Roi Poranne, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, joined the University of Haifa through the Returning Scientists Program, after completing his Postdoc at ETH Zurich.
“Decoding the art of animation is my passion.
My research focuses on the development of
new computational tools that enhance virtual
reality, machine learning, and art and design
apps.
I am currently working on a new project to
enhance virtual reality applications in stroke
rehabilitation therapy with colleagues from
the Faculty of Social Welfare and Health
Sciences. I am delighted that my research
is contributing to quality of life and health
care outcomes.”
The Returning Scientists Program offers generous start-up
packages to enable promising scholars to set up their
academic home in Haifa.
Join us in returning talented Israeli scientists like Roi to Israel.
